The McDermid Family | Mpumalanga Photographer

April 29, 2013

This was a memorable shoot for so many reasons.

Firstly Yolandi booked me all the way from Kriel – a first for me.  Yolandi told me there were some trees she had been driving past all her life and she always wanted to one day have photos taken there – so this was the plan.  On my way there I drove through a huge thunderstorm, and having driven almost 2 hours was really worried that our shoot might rain out.  But we did some family photos at home and then made our way to Grandma’s place.  By this time the whole sky was dark and the wind was really blowing.   But the girls were real troopers – they smiled and posed and were so good.

And then we moved on to a neighbouring farm where THE trees were… funny thing is that I have been driving past them all my life too!!  Gorgeous mangled weeping willows set in a pasture with the most beautiful long swaying green grass…lush grass like I’ve never seen before.  So, with broody dark skies overhead and the greenest green grass underfoot we shot some of my favourite family portraits ever.

Thank you Yolandi – making your dream come true ended up making one of mine come true…magical portraits…

I hope you like them too – I love these!
