I was really happy to be back in Dullstroom for this lovely wedding at The Red Barn – and so excited to shoot there again! I adore the rustic charm of this venue and I really liked the decor for Mariandi and Donovan’s wedding. A lot of handmade earthy touches, soft peach and green combined with wood and tables made especially for the occasion.
Down the road Donovan was getting dressed at a Trout Lodge surrounded by his groomsmen and we managed to capture some shots under the trees, while at the venue Mariandi was being helped into her dress by her bridesmaids. Outside the little flower girls were sitting pretty in their dresses, and from there we had a lovely view over the valley and the venue over on the opposite hill. Mariandi has a really stately presence and looked so classy and elegant in her dress – she is simply beautiful – I don’t think Donovan knew what hit him as she walked down the isle…and as he swept away a tear my heart skipped a beat too. There is just something amazingly magical about the quiet forest around and the sun filtering through the trees and seeing two people come together in such a beautiful way.
That evening was filled with the typical country cheer that I have come to expect from country weddings – lots of laughing and dancing and a good time had by all. It truly was such a spectacular day!
