Every time I photograph at Florence Guest Farm I fall in love with the place all over again – situated on the Highveld surrounded by grassy hills and open skies, its the kind of place that welcomes you with serene simple elegance.
This time I had the opportunity to photograph in the new forest – this after a tornado destroyed the old forest during the last rainy season. We don’t often hear about tornados in South-Africa, but having stayed in Dullstroom and witnessing a couple myself, they are now very real to me! And maybe its better I moved to White River!!
I was so impressed when I saw all the work they did for this wedding – so much was done by them and their family. I think there is something special about a wedding where the family still jumps in to help, it makes it more special and all the more memorable because the everyone is involved and a part of the whole event. The memories are shared, the work and laughs and even the tears too. And this family should be hired out for events!!
Though the day dawned cool – as weddings around this area usually are – the hearts were warm, the promises sincere and the smiles big. A gorgeous Highveld wedding!
