Deidre and Stefan tied the knot on a lovely summer day surrounded by friends and family at the gorgeous Helderfontein Estate in Midrand. Though we were a little worried about the weather, the clouds seem to part especially for their wedding and only much later that evening pulled together to bless their day with a huge torrent of rain.
I am absolutely in love with Helderfontein Estate – it seems like a place from another era – all covered in ivy and gorgeously atmospheric. Deidre and Stefan were so easy to work with – I think if I left them they would stare at each other all day and just smile happily all the while! They just looked so ecstatic to be there and together and it was such a pleasure to spend the day with them. Couples like these are the reason I love my job so much! The reception was just as much fun and I think both me and Colette (my awesome second shooter for the day – thanks Colette!!) were rolling around with laughter as the guys did their funky chicken dance! That was followed by a couple of twists on the normal traditions – first a game was devised for Stefan and Deidre where they had to unhook hearts from a line and rehook on another line without dropping them…they did really well!!
All in all – certainly a fun ad memorable wedding!! Thank you for making us a part of your day and thank you so much for being patient during peak wedding season for your photos – you guys are awesome!
